Pastor Roderick Steele believes in putting members in the church to work for the mission of Christ!
Dr. Steele is a person who meets no strangers. A resilient and focused man - which is evidenced in his achievement of a Doctorate of Divinity - Roderick Lynn Steele is a native of DeRidder, Louisiana and a husband of 32 years. His wife is the anointed songbird and lover of plants, Patricia Bellard Steele. The two met while attending a religious conference, and after dating two years, joyfully united in marriage. Pastor Roderick and First Lady Patricia are parents to two adult offspring, Jasmine and Roderick Jr., and have three sweet grandchildren.
Pastor Steele served in the United States Navy for 16 years, and together with his wife, they have lived as far away as Iceland. However, with a loving commitment to their parents, the couple decided Louisiana had to be their homestead state, and they now reside in Denham Springs. With admirable energy, Dr. Roderick Steele works full time for the Department of Justice. Appointed as pastor of Greater St. Peter Baptist Church in May 2022, this 32-year Gospel veteran - Reverend Dr. Steele - has sounded the charge that we can and must do better!

Pastor Steele's goal is to see Greater St. Peter Baptist Church and the surrounding communities thrive. Pastor Roderick's desire is to see both internal and external ministries work cooperatively and succeed.
Reverend Dr. Roderick Lynn Steele enjoys his family, great preaching, the fellowship of warm people, a really good plate of food and laughter.

Pastor Steele has been blessed with a beautifully committed wife - First Lady Patricia Steele. She is a soul-stirring participant of the GSPBC Senior Choir, a praise dancer and chairs the Women's Mission.
PASTOR STEELE'S PROUD PARENTS
Pastor Steele is the sole offspring of his parents: Hayward & Lula Steele. The senior Steeles are members of Greater St. P. under their son's leadership. Hayward Steele is a retired school principal and serves as an active deacon at GSPBC. Dr. Steele's mother, Sister Lula, is a retired librarian and lovely example of femininity and gentility.
